Finger Cookbook on AppStore!30 Sep

Finally Finger Cookbook is on AppStore! We took a lot of time ’cause we have been very busy and because this is a self fund project, therefore we had to give the priority to other stuff.

Anyway, yesterday Finger Cookbook was in 7th position in its category chart… Great! We really hope this application could promote the recipes and the blogs of all the chefs, food enthusiasts and foodbloggers who took part to this project. A big thank you to each one of them, for their collaboration, for their incredible recipes, and because they give us their time and trust.

If you want to download the app just click here. If you want to take part to this project and join the community of food lovers send us your recipes at this address recipes@fingercookbook.com

But we don’t want to waste our time talking to much… We only want to cook all the chefs’ gourmets now on Finger Cookbook! Bon appetit mes amis!

First Release completed!24 Oct

Well, well, well, we were so busy with the development of the application that we didn’t have the time to update the blog.

We have just tested the first release of Finger Cookbook and it looks great! It’s quick, smart and tasty as we wanted. Jesse - our fantastic developer - is working on it and we all hope it will be ready soon!

Meanwhile lots of cooks and foodbloggers are sending their amazing recipes to us, and in a couple of days we’ll be ready to see them in the iPhone. In particular today I want to thank Ricki and Babe. Thank you very much girls!

If you want to take part in this project, write us (info [at] fingercookbook [dot] com) or fill the form you can find here and here.

See you soon, and never stop cooking! ;-)

And finally we have the icon06 Oct

For homework today we had an important thing to do: the icon for the Apple Application Store.

At the beginning we wanted to draw a recipe, but we changed our mind because we didn’t want to give a country identity to Finger Cookbook, showing a typical dish (i.e pizza or pasta for Italy, hamburger for US, etc).

Therefore we decided to draw a chef.

Pretty funny, but the icon is small and the cook it was too fat to fit in the little square!
Well, because we didn’t have the time to diet the chef, we stole his gourmet plate and we made the icon!

When you’ll see it on the Apple App Store, click on it and become a perfect chef!

Step two: get through to food bloggers29 Sep

(Photo: Chef from South Park)

Hello guys, how did you spend those last two days? Having fun in the countryside? Shopping? Cooking? :-)

Well, I’ve spent the whole saturday and sunday surfing into the tasty recipes written by incredible and talended food bloggers. At the end of the week-end I was starving!

Anyway, we have selected a list of the most interesting food blogs that we have visited (for now) and we asked them to take part in this project. Some of them have accepted with enthusiasm and they are already sending us their cookbooks. Thank you girls and guys! I’m eager to try all your delicious recipes and browse them with my iPhone! Aren’t you?

Step one: our company logo23 Sep

Today we’ve realized that didn’t have one of the basic components for every single project: the logo.

Because we are always in rush, after a very-quick-but-profitable brain storming, we started drawing a finger, but, obviously it wasn’t enough. What does it means a single finger? Only one think, and this it wasn’t exactly what we wanted to communicate. LOL

So, we’ve drawn the rest of the hand and we’ve added a little iPhone. Half iPhone of full iPhone? In which position should be the hand?

Grumble grumble… Finally we’ve decided for the full iPhone and the oblique hand.
Red is a good color… but what about green as vegetables, peas, zucchini, greens and avocados?

We like green! Green is eco, green is nature, green is hope, green is money! LOL

So, we’ve try to insert the green logo in our very green website and we realized that maybe it was *too much* green! We needed to try something else.

Finally we’ve tried with the green and grey combination, and we were quite satisfied. What do you think? Do you agreen with us?

If you have any suggestions, don’t be shy and feel free to leave a comment or send us an email. We’ll appreciate it. :-)

Here we go!20 Sep

We started working on Fingercookbook.com in June 2008 as a side project to our regular jobs.
A lot of changes have taken place in the lasts two months: firstly we have searched for a couple of iPhone App developers around the world because here, in Italy, it’s very difficult to find experienced people; secondly we’ve started contacting food bloggers to know their opinion about our project; and finally we’ve set up the team and we’ve started the development of Finger Cookbook.

Come back soon for more project updates!
